Little Mozarts Camps                                                                Ages: 4 and 5 year olds

Your little student will begin to learn how to sit at the piano; Correct hand position; High and low; forte and piano; Keyboard topography; Bar line and measure, Quarter, half, whole notes and rests; and Repeat signs.

Student’s lesson and recital book interweave new music into an all-new story about Beethoven Bear, Mozart Mouse and the Magical Music Book. Students will enjoy the imaginative story while applying what they have learned.

A keyboard or piano is not required at home for this camp.  There is a maximum of 4 students per camp.  Materials are passed out the first day of camp.


Blast Off With Piano                                                                            Ages: 6-12 years

Blast Off With Piano focuses on studying note reading, rhythm, music symbols, sight reading, listening and keyboard skills. This camp is for any student wanting to give piano a try that has never taken lessons.  It’s a perfect opportunity for any student to try out piano without a semester long commitment. A keyboard or piano is not required at home for this camp.

There is a maximum of 6 students per camp.  Materials are passed out the first day of camp.


Mini Maestros                                                                 students currently in level 1A

Sign up your mini-maestro for a week of developing ear training skills and composition as well as ensemble playing.  They will work on development of the ear with rhythmic, melodic and intervallic concepts.  Mini-Maestros will also develop their creativity and compositional skills, while reinforcing important musical concepts including music reading and notation. 

There is a maximum of 6 students per camp.  Materials are passed out the first day of camp.


Junior Maestros                                                      student currently in level 1B or 2A

Junior Maestros will develop their ear training skills, composition, and ensemble playing.  Students will develop their ear with rhythmic, melodic and intervallic concepts.  Junior Maestros will also develop their creativity and compositional skills, while reinforcing important musical concepts including music reading and notation.

There is a maximum of 6 students per camp.  Materials are passed out the first day of camp.




Beginners Guitar Camp                                                                     Ages 8-14 years

Guitar Camp is for any student who is a beginner.  Whether you’ve never touched a guitar before, or you just started your lessons, sign up for this guitar camp to learn more about proper techniques in holding a guitar, the note names of strings, note reading, and learn to play simple songs!

 

There is a maximum of 8 students per camp.  Each student must provide their own guitar. Materials will be passed out at the first day of camp.

The Next Idol Singing Camp                                                               Ages 7-12 years

Want to be the next Idol?  Then this camp is for you!  During this week long camp, students will learn vocal techniques, breathing techniques, voice control and placement, auditioning etiquette and performance techniques.

 

The Next Idol is one week long for 90 minutes each day. 

There is a maximum of 12 students per camp. 

Piano, Guitar and Voice                                                                          Ages 6 - adult

Private Lessons for guitar, piano and voice are scheduled throughout the summer.  You are welcome to taken one lesson every week, or just a few.  Whatever fits your summer vacation plans!  You pay for only the lessons that you sign up for!


Piano and Voice lessons begin at age 6.  Guitar begins at age 8.

 

Private lessons can be scheduled Monday through Friday at a time of your choice.  Times vary by instructor.

Peekaboo, I Love You!                                                     Ages: newborn - 18 months        
More than a curious story, Mother Goose games like peekaboo help your baby understand language.  Uncover more ways to say “I love you” using bubbles, American Sign Language, and parent-baby dances.  Connect with other newborns and families in the community and learn how music improves your child’s development process.  Parent attends class with child.
At Home Materials: Hardcover book, softest ever star-sponge, and “just ducky” mirror.  CD features a slip-in, slip out lyric book inside the case.  Home activities poster.

Busy Days!                                                                       Ages: newborn - 18 months    
Set your baby’s day to classical music.  With a little more Tchaikovsky in your “Twinkle, Twinkle” repertoire discover new ways baby benefits from the classics as you develop an appreciation for the worlds’ most respected music.  Each lesson features new activities and songs that the parent can sing for all the places baby and mom go together- the store, the playground, the doctor and more.  Parent attends class with child.
At Home Materials:  Busy Day board book, Home CD, Village cage bell instrument and poster.

Zoo Train                                                                              Ages: 18 months -3 years         
Your toddler and the train make a natural match - always on the move.  Bring your own stuffed animals for the petting zoo.  Wear long white socks on your hands for polar bear paws.  Sing songs for clapping time and use music to help children regulate emotions.  Parent attends class with child.
At Home Materials: Hardcover book, funky chunky animal shaker - in elephant or giraffe shapes.  CD also includes the slip-in lyric book.  Home activities poster.

Creatures at the Ocean                                                       Ages: 18 months -3 years          
Sing sailor songs and make the ocean count.  “Five little seashells lying on the shore: Swish!  Went the waves and then there were four.”  Make homemade kites and fish sandwiches using fish-shaped bread and P.B. and J.  Parent attends class with child.
At Home Materials: Home CD, pair of seashell castanet instrument, a set of 10 story cards and 5 picture folders.

Creatures in My Backyard                                                  Ages: 18 months -3 years 
Give children something to sing about in their own backyards. Be the flower from the "seed's" perspective. Run and jump in rain puddles made from hula hoops. Snack on whole wheat mini-waffles dipped in honey, just like a real honeycomb. Shoo real flies and sing "Shoo Fly."
Home Materials: Home CD, Bunny hand puppet, and a set of 5 picture folders.

On the Road                                                                             Ages: 3 years - 5 years             
Relive your childhood with your child.  Every song is likely to revive a memory from your summers’ past.  Play “Eye Spy” and find shapes in the clouds to pass the time.  Take imaginary trips to vacation destinations on a bus named “Van Go.”
At Home Materials:  Hardcover book and a wooden frog guiro instrument - just the right mix of sophistication and silliness.  CD includes the slip-in lyric book.  Home activities poster.

Confetti Days                                                                           Ages: 3 years - 5 years              
Throw a new party every day.  ride a carousel inside the classroom.  Play a balancing game and walk on a web of ropes.  Learn colors and sing the Spanish song “De Colores.”  Do a musical move and freeze.
At Home Materials: Five full-color picture folders each depicting a different theme, Home CD, Story Kit, Specially designed Confetti Bells.

Tell Me a Tale                                                                           Ages: 5 years - 7 years            
Through storytelling your child will develop an early awareness of rhythm, movement, singing, and drama.  Each lesson features a new tale from around the world, explored through multi-instrument and multi-cultural elements.  All told, it’s an around-the-imagination adventure of the greatest stories from Europe, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.
At Home Materials: Take Home book and CD, Parent Poster with additional activities and special instrument - Lummi sticks.

Family Time                                                                           Ages: newborn - 7 years
Here, There and Everywhere—the five sub-themes center around different family outings:  a visit with a friend, an outing at the park, a trip to the city, an afternoon at the aquarium, and a day on the farm.  Move like animals with this unit’s story Flip-Flap, Sugar Snap!  And follow a girl’s adventure as she loses her jambourine during the day’s outings and then finds it in the story Jingle-Jangle Jambourine.

Music Appreciation                                                                               Ages 10 - adult

Every musician needs to understand the basics of music theory.  Music appreciation will help musicians examine the language and notation of music.  Students will analyze the fundamental elements of music—rhythm, harmony, melody, structure, form, texture, etc. 

Students will be exposed to music appreciation. Students will be taught what to listen for and to appreciate different types of music. Music appreciation will look at different eras in history.

Class will meet once a week, for 10 weeks (skipping July 4th) for one hour.
